Puri Mandir

Coming to Odisha and not visiting Jagannath Puri will leave your journey incomplete. A pious part of the Char Dham Yatra in Hindu pilgrimage,

the Puri Jagannath temple is an architectural marvel built in the 12th century in the Kalinga style with a height of 65 meters. This is the home of Lord Jagannath, who resides with his siblings Balram and Subhadra.

The Rath Yatra should be a must in your bucket list, although it happens to take place in a particular auspicious time period, mostly in the month of July. Surely, a surreal experience to witness. The Rath Yatra attracts eyes worldwide and is made of enormous wooden chariots that take almost a year to build.

Besides being a spiritual temple it also exhibits fascinating puzzles like the mysterious flag flying against the flow of wind. Also, having Maha Prasad from the world’s largest temple kitchen is a must.

It is said that Lord Krishna’s heart is preserved in the temple known as Brahma Padarth holding the spiritual power of Lord Krishna after his demise.

Konark Temple

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is one of the most celebrated temples of India. On the golden coastline of Odisha is Konark’s Sun Temple, built with Kalinga architecture, the sculptured walls showcasing gods, celestials, dancers, and everyday life forever. The whole temple is in the form of a chariot for the Surya god riding seven horses representing the 7 days of the week. The 12 giant sundial wheels around the temple, carved out of stone, depict 12 months of the year. The architecture was made with advanced astronomical mathematical knowledge for tracking time with the sun's movement.

An amalgamation of forests and waterfalls, Daringbadi is located in Kandhmal District of Odisha state. Stories permeated through generations that there was a British officer named Daring Saheb and the name Daringbadi has been derived from his name only.

It is a hill station situated at an elevation of 915 metres. Interestingly, it is often referred as the “KASHMIR OF ODISHA”.  The place is filled with pine forests and the beautiful waterfalls. Also it has got several plateaus, valleys and hillocks.

Udaygiri

One of the most beautiful place of Odisha where archaeological importance meets history. The caves are mainly said to be extracted from the time when Kharavela, the king of Kalinga reigned. Among the estimated 18 caves, the “Rani Gumpha” or the “Cave Queen” is the most famous one grabbing the most attention from the tourists. The whole location is embellished with 7 entrances and 9 columns. The name Udaygiri denotes “Sunrise Hill”. The Archaeological survey of India has listed it’s caves to be among the “Must See” Indian Heritages.


Chandrabhaga Beach

A few kilometers away from the Sun Temple there lies a beautiful, serene, breathtaking Chandrabagha Beach, away from chaos, a relaxation spot for taking time off from your busy life, a spot for water sports, and a blue flag certified beach. It consists of spiritual connection. Watch mesmerizing sunrises and sunsets. According to mythology, Samba, son of Lord Krishna, got his leprosy cured after worshipping the sun god.
